His feet reveal the Muscogee word for bird, “fuswv”, and an octagram marks his breast as a compass, a symbol of hope. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in NYC, this work is a playful, yet poignant, demonstration during a period of mandated isolation and civil unrest.
