Oklahoma City
Shattee Patrice Robinson (she/they) b. 1997 – Black | Native | Queer I’m a self-taught multidisciplinary artist born in Alameda, California and raised by my grandma on a farm in Tannehill, Oklahoma. My creative journey has never followed a straight line—and I like it that way. Being self-taught gave me the freedom to experiment without getting caught up in “rules.” I explore whatever medium speaks to me in the moment—acrylic on canvas, recycled fabrics, hot glue, melted Crayola, wire, thrifted materials—anything that lets me build texture and bring an idea to life. My paintings are often bold and layered, with color combinations that reflect emotional complexity and movement. My work tends to carry weight—whether it’s spiritual, ancestral, or deeply personal. I create to process, to release, and to honor. Through photography, I focus on storytelling—capturing people in raw, vulnerable, and unfiltered states. I find beauty in those in-between moments when people are just being. That realness is what drives me. I pull influence from artists and storytellers like Andy Warhol, Spike Lee, and Toni Morrison. But most of my inspiration comes from the lived experience of being a Black woman in America, from my evolving spiritual practice, and from Mother Nature herself.
