Savannah Tallbear

Savannah Tallbear is a Kaw Nation (Southern Cheyenne, Oglala Lakota) artist, based out of Moore, Oklahoma. Raised in OKC, she was brought up with a love for creating, and explored this in their formative years at Classen SAS. After pursuing different career ventures as an adult, beadwork and painting became their full-time career during the pandemic. Using art as an outlet, Tallbear seeks to show the perseverance of Indigenous cultures and mother nature. With vibrant colors and movement, Tallbear melds traditional symbols with modern expression. Tallbear takes inspiration from each of their tribes’ different cultures, nature, and space. Often incorporating landscapes from their traditional territories into their artwork. They’ve participated in markets and exhibitions such as: WAM at FAM, Art Mix on 66, So Fresh at Plaza Walls, Indigenous Creatures at Plaza Walls, and Native Voices- Uncanny Comic Con. They’ve participated in multiple mural installations- permanently in El Reno and Tulsa, and winning the 2022 Thunder: FRESH PAINT mural competition.
