Born and raised in Oklahoma, I’ve always been drawn to and fascinated by the visual arts and how it can communicate, connect, and resonate with individuals across unique perspectives. My structured approach to composition often evolves organically, capturing the essence of effectual moments. As I play with a medium, I primarily focus my exploration through the lens of "high-contrast," which may manifest itself in one or many ways in the final piece. Doing so allows me to break-down an idea into its rawest form. Drawing inspiration from diverse range of sources including architecture, music, dreams, and nature, I observe and reflect on the interconnectedness of the senses and how they are perceived. The sound of an opera may carry a distinct hue, or the smell of the wind may replay a vivid memory. Each work serves as a nostalgic memento of synesthesia. Ultimately, I find peace in uncovering these connections, simplifying the complex and defining the indescribable.
